I supported the living wage for all Council staff and contractors at Hutt City Council, I also lobbied Council for three years, submitting at the annual planning and community services committee. I have worked with hundreds of families without accommodation and primarily gave insight to what many children are experiencing. I played a critical role in Hutt City Council adopting a homeless strategy and committing $1.5million. This is just a start, and there is a lot more work to be done.
